Movement Monday – Plantar Fasciitis

Dr. Brooks Newton Articles

We’ve taken a bit of a hiatus over the last few months, but Movement Monday’s are back!

This week we’re talking plantar fasciitis the #1 cause of heel pain. Or more accurately, plantar fasciosis.

Plantar fasciitis is differentiated from plantar fasciosis based on its lack of inflammation.

– Plantar fasciits = acute inflammation

– Plantar fasciosis = degenerative condition (no inflammation)

Over the last few weeks, we’ve seen an influx of runners with heel pain. Most of these runners assume they have plantar fasciitis and subsequently are icing and resting.

At DSM Spine+Sport our mission is for our patients to get better faster. We strive to destroy pain and facilitate function as quickly as we can. We have no interest in making life long patients. Through the use of hands-on techniques we are able to destroy pain which allows our patients to live pain free.

Movement Monday’s are a way for us to provide information and education to allow others to also live pain free.
